About Us
My Name is Gemma and I have had an adoration for Dogs since I was a little girl. I new I would work with them in some way or another and I decided money is not everything and wanting to do something I really enjoy was the right thing to do.

During my research into Dog Grooming one thing I noticed being a complete Dog Lover, was how many Dog groomers there are around, unfortunatley I found some not as nice or caring to the dogs as I would have liked to see. I mention this to make people aware how important it is to find a good groomer and one like myself which will treat you dog in a loveable manner as if they were their own.

I am happy to take on dogs whatever their temperament as I believe all dogs can be groomed with the right approach and kindness. Very often than not it is a nervous fear rather than agression. All I ask is to PLEASE WARN ME WHEN BOOKING IF YOUR DOG MAY SHOW ANY OF THESE SIGNS, that way I can approach him/her with caution.

I have muzzles but have never had to use them at all as yet, I have experienced grumbles and growling and have managed to calm them down and ended up with lots of kisses not bites and of course my main concern a HAPPY DOG!

"Another Groomer Said My Dog will need Sedating to be groomed!... "
I recently got as phone call from a very worried Old English Sheepdog owner regarding grooming her dog. She had been to a previous mobile groomer and was told that the only way the dog could be groomed was by Sedation at the Vets. A very extreme thing to do for a dog and something everyone knows carries a risk, something you would only really ever contemplate doing if your dog was ill or being carstrated/etc.

I new straight away, there must be a better way of grooming the dog then putting it through that!? I agreed to try my best for the dog and was ready to expect the worse.

I was greeted with a lovely OES dog, In fact the whole groom was fine, she was just very nervous, and needed reassuring she would not face the same bad experience she had with the previous groomer. I was told you couldn't get scissors or clippers near her. She was absolutley fine with them with me and enjoyed lots of cuddles. The only areas found particularly difficult were her front paws and her head. I took this slowly, rather than upsetting her and stressing her out, removed the matts from her ears and feet and felt that was enough of a day for her and I'm sure she will get even more relaxed after each visit.

Having had such a bad experience before her owners had been reluctant to find another groomer and by the time they found me she was in a very bad state coat wise, there was not one place on her body that was not covered in matts. This took me over 5 hours to do, and In places I had to go almost to the skin as the matts were so close to the skin, she may not look her best at the moment but she will certainly feel 100% better and with regular grooming her coat will look fabulous!
